Yes, pampers are more expensive than most brands and yes, disposable nappies fill up landsites. But what I found is that these nappies are so absorbant that you only need to change them twice every 24 hours - a fresh one for night, a fresh one half way through the morning and try to time it with a major fill. We had an average use of 2.6 nappies a day - allowing for the odd one you had to change. I don't believe any washable comes more ecological or convenient than that.

They do keep baby's bum dry, and they are easy to use, especially for first timers and don't leave a horrid mess like some when overfilled (when Dad's are in charge usually). However, they are not the best fitting on slimmer babies, huggies on newborns are more flexible, but Pampers Active fit are in my humble opinion much much better when baby gets bigger.

My daughter is 4 months old and is constantly twisting and kicking about, these are the only nappies I have found that keep her completely dry - even overnight - and don't leak out of the edges. Also the sizes have large weight ranges which makes them convenient to buy in bulk so you get a better deal.
