Simply lovely! Practical - with a thick, comfy mattress, teething-friendly rubber-coated top rail and drop-down side - and nice-looking too. We used it straight away with our first baby by putting her Moses basket inside it, then losing the basket at around 3 months. Now she’s a year old and enjoying exploring every corner - pulling up endlessly on the bars. Apart from the occasional skewering of legs between the bars she’s come to no ill in it and always slept well. Our sensor monitor worked fine under the thick mattress too. We didn’t actually use it by our bed, but found the drop-down side (which slides underneath and out of the way) to be very handy protection for our backs once she was mobile and we’d lowered the mattress right down.

Most other people I know bought a bedside cot in order to do the sleeping with baby / easy access to baby for night feeds - and this cot is great for that. The side goes into a drop side position, or neatly slides under the cot. Once you have released the catches each side (need two hands for that) you can slide it under with one hand if necessary. It has all the usual stuff - safety catches, teething rail, nice clean design etc.

We bought a bedside cot as I have a bad back, and on the cot we'd been given for our first son, within a few months he was too heavy for me to be able to lift him out, even with the drop side down. I would have to wake my husband! So we looked at different bedside cots, and this one seemed much more substantial than the Mothercare one.

We've been really pleased with it, and it's now in use for our second son. There's no way I could manage to lean over a cot to lift them out (they have both been heavy babies) and even if you don't have a bad back to start with, lifting a baby in and out of a cot can damage your back, or in my case make it worse, so I think bedside cots with sides that slide under (or over) are just the best thing, even just for this reason. We don't use the cot in its "bedside" mode, as I like to put my son down for daytime naps too, and would struggle to lean round it if it were next to the bed to put him down. But we love it :)

We had trouble trying to find anywhere to actually see it, but I understand that both John Lewis and Blooming Marvellous now have it on display.
