This is one of my all time favourite cookery books - not a single recipe has ever let me down; in fact, its so reliable I have been known to happily cater for large dinner parties using totally untried recipes! Split into sensible sections by ingredients (pasta, pulses etc) the book covers both day-to-day recipes and 'event' dining. Each recipe is broken down into simple steps; calorie information per portion is given and GH helpfully tell you when/if you can freeze each dish. Best of all, there is a colour photo for every single recipe, so you have a good idea of what you're aiming for!

I've been a vegetarian for ... ooh... 25 years now, and this is the best cookery book that I have ever used. There are loads of photos, and a good selection of easy to make hot dishes (rice, pasta, vegetables etc), a fab section on soups and even a few desserts. The curries are particularly good.
