Excellent - easy to follow with blissfully short ingredient lists. Lots of healthy meals and lovely treats. Good for cooking with the kids as it doesn't take too long - my 3 yr old twins helped me make the muesli bread today.

Love it! Apparently, on average we only consistently cook about 2-3 recipes out of any cook book we buy. Not so with this, it has become my first point of contact when entertaining.

Curry in a hurry is fab (don't forget the lime). Steak in white bean mash has become a 'treat the huband special' and it only takes 10 mins. Nice one Nigella. Feast was a bit OTT for me and mine but Nigella Express is bang on. Thankyou.

Personally I was disappointed by this book. I use several of her earlier books regularly and am a fan of her more indulgent dessert recipes. I also enjoy her very personal style of writing. Whenever I flick through it all seems a little jaded. The retro cool recipes feel a little obvious, the trendy ingredients added to spice up traditional dishes (wasabi etc) feel a little self conscious and the "hey let’s have a super chic metro casual party" ideas feel a little ridiculous when considering my own life style. Serving up a plate of slightly differently shaded green omelettes as a "frittata party" would only get me sympathy and concerned looks round here.

As well as containing great, practical, no faff recipes I actually enjoyed reading this book. The TV series was dire, but please look past that or you will be missing out. The Pollo alla cacciatore is so easy and all my family love it and I also recommend the Seared Salmon and singapore noodles (though it was a bit runny...) The recipes are very easy to follow, so much so that my non-cooking dh has even tried a few (Spanish ommlette for a start).

I love the way Nigella writes about food and the cooking of it. There is so much in this book I agreed with. A must for a busy family household. Great tasting food with the minimum of fussy and time consuming preparation. Recommended!

Great recipes which really can be on the table in 20 mins. Recommend the pork chops with cider/mustard and cream sauce, and the recipe can be adapted with creme fraiche and spinach. The steak recipe with the lemon marinade is a great hit too, and makes a regular appearance.

Glad I got this book - quick food that actually tastes good!
