David Cameron on whether The Thick of It accurately represents the Conservative publicity machine: "I love The Thick of It. V funny... but only true about the other lot (not)."

Ignore the incredibly irritating finger-licking tv performance, this is actually a fantastic book full of delicious delicious recipes that you can bung together in minutes. I also have 'How to Eat' and have often been put off by the faff factor of a lot of the recipes in that, but my partner got 'express' the week we had our baby and it's brilliant. Quick and yummy, just what you need.

Not as bad as I feared. Some really nice recipes not just a selection of foods combined.

Unlike the TV series, the book is not remotely cutesy and over hyped. Fantastic, quick meals and great ideas for saving time and still preparing home-cooked family food.

Particularly liked the buttermilk chicken and the sticky sausages for parties.

Having had a bit of a lull cooking-wise lately, reading the book and trying some of the recipes actually re-ignited my enthusiasm for cooking.
