I orginally bought a Maxi Cosi Rodi XR seat for my child who is 2 yrs 9 months, as his younger brother is over 1 and almost too heavy for his rear-facing baby seat and ready to move into a group 1 seat. I was very unhappy with the Maxi Cosi as when he napped (even with seat in the fairly minimal recline position), his whole body doubled over and his head lolled around. See review for further info on this.
The shop I bought it from kindly exchanged the seat (I only had it three days) for the Silver Cross model. It's also a high-back booster, which splits into two pieces for portability (though the seat base cannot be used on its own, even though the shop assistant said it could!!). It has a much better reclining function than the Maxi Cosi - you twiddle a dial on the front of the seat - and the sides by the head are much closer and more protective. The headrest and seat both adjust as the child grows and it looks really stylish too.
I have to say that if it weren't for my youngest having to move up, I would not buy a high-back booster for my 2.9 yr old yet, as he's at the lower end of the weight and height bracket. Having said that, this seat is lovely and he does not loll forward when asleep in it.
We are about to embark on a long car journey in France and I have no reservations about using this seat, it is well worth the money. You may find though for younger children that you need to get a seat belt adjuster, reviewed on this site. We are thinking of buying one.
Overall a really good seat which seems to offer much more comfort and protection than most other models in this group.
