Although this pump is expensive it is the best one I think you can buy for home use. The dual speed allows a really effective let down and you can change the speed and suction to suit you. It pumps much faster than the Ameda and I have found I can get the job done in half the time of other single speed pumps. It is easy to clean, though the diaphragm bits need care not to loose them. I loved this machine.

I bought this second hand on Ebay. It is very effective indeed and produces lots of milk. I like the way you can adjust the sensitivity, although I still find it makes my nipples very sensitive. Double pumping is possible, but tricky. The whine of it drives us a bit mad and we bury it under a cushion to try and shut it up. It's not very portable as it's large and bulky and I have bought a Medela Swing for taking out and about which is much smaller and lighter. If you have the choice, I would choose a Swing rather than the Pump in Style traveller.

I went back to fulltime work when my son was 2.5 months old and I don't think it would have been possible without this pump. Fast, comfortable, quiet, and easy to use, I can highly recommend it. It may seem expensive but it has been worth every penny to enable continuous breastfeeding. The only down side is that it is quite heavy, but the rucksack in which it comes enables you to carry it easily and discreetly in the workplace or elsewhere. The kit also comes with a hand pump and a case for storing milk with an optional cooling element.

Although it's expensive, I found it one of the best things I've bought.
You can buy them 2nd hand from Ebay for around £80-90 or get an even cheaper one from the states (watch the postage!) but will need to buy a new adaptor for less than a 10er.
It's quick to express, the beauty is that you can express from both breasts, and is perfect for getting your partner/helper to give the dream feed so you can have a break. Plus as this promotes production of prolactin helps in the production of more milk.
The new one's come with a great gel pack for keeping bottles cold if used out and about and the breast shields are some kind of flexi plastic and not ridgid and are very comfortable.

can't recommend this pump enough, particularly for mums going back to work. i went back to work when my son was 10 weeks but continued to breast feed him until he was 15 months which i doubt i could have done without the pump in style. i'd tried a hand pump beforehand and could barely get any milk, though using a double electric pump meant i could express quickly and effectively. The pump can be plugged in or run on batteries and all comes in a rucksack which is great for carrying to and from work and taking away on trips. the suction strength and speed can be adjusted and a cool bag with room for 4 bottles is contained in the rucksack. expensive but was a godsend for me, and seems to have quite a high resale value on ebay.
