Although quite expensive for a hand pump, the Avent is really easy to use and is super quick to operate once you use it enough. It's easy to control and vary the pressure according to milk flow, it's great to stimulate milk production and express some off to make feeding easier. Also, it's silent (unlike anoother battery operated model) so it won't wake your partner, the baby, or the neighbours! The only downside is that the little white valve wears out quickly from repeated use and then keeps popping out. you can order replacements from Avent, but it's a pain.

Good value, easy to use, easy to sterilise (esp with the Avent microwave steriliser)and small and discreet (lovely and quiet) Commonly known as the boob trumpet in our house!

Great for an odd expressed bottle, but one of the parts (the small rubber circle) keeps popping out meaning you need to unassemble and reassemble when expressing.

Once you have got the hang of it really easy to put together and to use. Great to be able to use it with the via pots that can be put straight in the freezer and can later be used for weaning
