Supplier says
The Philips AVENT ISIS Manual Breast Pump includes 2 AVENT Bottles (125ml/4oz). Mums can express directly into the container which can then be used with the Airflex Feeding Bottle for easy feeding. The pump works quickly, gently and quietly without the need for motors or batteries.

I pannicked when I first saw this out of the box - fitting together seemed a nightmare for a stressed sleep deprived mum. However, quickyl got the hang of it and it did do the job quietly and effectively. Definitely helped me to keep my babies fed with breast milk for that little bit longer.

This was great for about 4 months, and the pump, for some reason, lost it's suction. Assembly was always fiddly and I never really got the hang of it. I replaced parts from Avent's webite,(their P& P is a rip off, by the way!) but to no avail. Great while it worked, but for some reason it gave up on me - I will be buying an electric pump next time!

A great breast pump but Avent advise sterilising should NOT be in a soloution like Milton or other. This annoyed me as I didn't want to splash out on a steam steriliser, or want to fiddle about with boiling pans of water each time. In the end I used Milton for the minimum 15 minutes to no ill effect on the parts but I wouldn't recommend doing that with yours just in case. I bought mine in a hurry from Boots and this was the only cheap one in stock. I think I'd go for one which was manufactured to be used in all methods of sterilisation if I had to buy another. Very comfy to use though, and very quick.

due to differing advice from midwives at the hospital my breasts were in a very bad state after 5 days of breastfeeding at the hospital. after using the breastpump at the hospital to get by i came home and was completely unable to feed my baby as my nipples were so sore that the skin was coming off them. i did not have any formula or bottles as i always planned on breastfeeding my baby. spent a night in pain with engorged breasts. the next morning my husband rushed out at 9 am and bought me the avent isis. it took a week to get it all going and i did not know how to assemble it until after my husband went back to work. it took 7 weeks to heal and i kept expressing all that time day and night.

Fiddly to assemble but really easy to use and more effective than the electric one I tried (not avent). Can pump straight into avent bottles if going to use the milk soon, or the cups for storage.
