bought this after using similar in the hospital. I find it really good, very simple to use, very easy to put together. good suction, good control over speeds and cycles. yes its a little more expensive, but in my experience, worth the extra pounds. would definitely recommend.

Excellent pump!

I had a horrendous time in the 1st week after baby was born trying to get breast feeding going. So needed a pump urgently and bought the advent ISIS in a panic buy. It was awful. Was about the give up and bottle feed, until midwife and NCT b/f counsellor offered me the ameda lactaline.

It been a total life saver! So easy to use and very effective. Works at almost any sitting angle, so you can really get comfy (something which the advent did not allow) you cannot sterilise in the microwave, but I keep mine in the cold water steriliser until needed.

Works as well as the industrial hospital ones and although I paid £85 for it, well worth it. (plus the medela ones in mothercare are a similar price and no where near as effective!)

I brought this great product from ebay once my twins were born and proved to be a great buy. Ihad a Advent one with my eldest and found it ok but the ameda was great. I brought a easyexpress bra which has holes in to put the pump on so u can pump hands free. it was easy to put together and clean and I took the pump out with me when I did not have the twins with me as I had a carry bag, which had a cool part to it for expressed milk. a great buy and only quite expensuve (£80.00 second hand with lots of extras) I could not have done without it. I still use it now and the girls are 13 months old so its been well used.

I was pumping exclusivley and went through 4 other pumps before I got to this, it is definitely the quietest and most comfortable, although not the quickest, highly recommended

I have to admit I haven't actually used the electric pump version of this but you can get a hand pump attachment for the same basic collection kit and it is the best pump I have tried. I found it comfortable and effective and it stimulated milk production far better than other pumps I have tried. According to the manufacturers the hand pump attachment it as powerful as the electric version although obviously more effort for you.

Only problem is that you can't microwave sterilise it so I boiled it in a pan.
