Brilliant! Quirky humour.

It's a charming story of people in a time warp in a small French village, but the brilliance is in the way it is written.

Places are never referred to just as 'the fountain' but 'the fountain-said-to-cure-gout', à la mode de 'Allo 'Allo (not sure about my French grammar there).

I grinned a lot whilst reading it!
