Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

An easy read if you can stay awake through it.

I like Anita Shreve books and this one is easy enough to read. Has an interesting ending.

This is a great book. Anita Shreve is a fantastic author, and this is one of my favourites so far. Another one of her's to read is "Light on Snow". Well worth it.

Nice to read, not too challenging, but quite emotional, with a twist and a fairly happy ending!
