The first major book sequence I read , many years ago as a teenager. I can still go back and read and re-read it and enjoy anew the dense imagery, the driving narrative, the sense of loss at world's passing and joy at world's saved, sacrifices made, tender love, stirring battles..... There is so much in the books.
