The Wilkinet lets the baby hang from her bottom, not her crotch, so the baby has more support. My baby loved the Wilkinet and it was the only thing that would comfort him in his very early days in that difficult period of 7-10PM -- he would fall asleep in the Wilkinet.

The downside is the complexity of the straps and that you really have to put the baby down once to get him into the sling. However, you can breastfeed the baby in the sling and even put your baby on your back, which really helps when doing chores. My baby was very big, though, so I couldn't use this sling (or any sling) for a long period of time.

I'm still carrying my little girl around in it and she's a hefty 6 months. i couldnt get the hang of it with my 1st child, but my coinfidence has grown and now i wouldn't be without it. Other mothers are always suprised to see me carrying baby in it with such ease. I am 5ft 2" with bad back and neck. only slight pain in the neck is putting her in it so she faces forward. but hey nearly perfect.

This was known as the 'octopus' in our house. Never learned to put it on single handedly, dd used to cry like a banshee whilst I struggled to get it on so I assume she wasn't comfortable. A great concept, but just didnt cut the mustard in reality.
