Once you've mastered the art of crocheting your baby into the Wilkinet it's so easy to use that you'll wonder what was so tricky at first. The baby's position is very high on your chest, which reduces the strain on your back. You can take the sling off without waking the baby. It packs down very compactly and is washable. The piggy-back position is less comfy (particularly if you have a big baby and large boobs!).

It takes a bit of practice to use but it's really comfy for you and the baby - no sharp bits or buckles. Nice soft materials too.

This sling looks very difficult to use - but after a couple of goes it is very easy and incredibly comfortable - I used mine instead of a pram for the first 3 months for both of my children and found it great. The baby is kept very safe and secure and they both loved it!

Do not be put off by the initial difficulty in getting this on - it gets much easier after you have done it a couple of times. The main advantages are that you can carry really heavy babies in the sling and if they fall asleep you can release them without them waking.

I use my Wilkinet almost every day, and hardly ever use my push chair. I can carry my baby (aged almost 6 months) in a Wilkinet for 3 hour stretches without getting tired or neck ache, and he seems quite happy. He loves going shopping in the Wilkinet now he faces forward, as everyone talks to him. It does take practice to get used to putting it on, but it is worth persevering.
