Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

I used my Coorie pouch for my baby from birth until around 6 months old, the moment I put her in it she fell asleep as if by magic! I can't recommend this pouch highly enough, it's so easy to put on (like a sash) and so, so comfortable to wear, I actually managed 4 hours wearing it once without any problems at all! You'll get lots of oohs and ahhs when you're wearing it!

Love it, love it, love it!! Am useless at putting on slings - had various with dd used none of them. ds curled up when tiny now sits up in it (4 months) and will easily sleep in it. Also, the tie slings accentuate every last bit of baby weight I am carrying - this covers it all! Always have it with me cos it's a great blanket. Doesn't need much additional clothing cos fleece lovely and warm. Only drawback is it's one shouldered so after longish wear (2 hours plus for me) my shoulder aches a bit

The Coorie is a fantastically easy to use pouch sling. It comes in a variety of colours and sizes. It is one piece of material - no rings or fasteners required and is designed to fit you, rather than the baby (which might mean you need two if you and your partner are different sizes). My daughter loved the cradle position when she was newborn and now likes sitting up in the tummy to tummy positions. This sling was probably the best purchase out of all our baby stuff.

Absolutely fabulous. BabyDragon lived in hers for a large portion of her first year (in the summer we switched to a cooler Kimmer from the same manufacturer).

Easy to use, easy to wriggle out of without disturbing your sleeping baby and doubled up as a blanket.

Couldn't be easier to use and particularly good for a newborn that likes to be carried curled up (rather than upright). I literally lived in this for 3 months. Baby looks really cosy and protected. Can also be used for older children in a hip carry.
