I really didn't get on with this.
Here are my reasons
1. it is VERY bulky. After having a baby, I am also very bulky and the two together is an unecessary combination. Also it doesn't fold down at all.
2. Its actually quite hard to get a newborn baby in it so they can actually breathe.
3. The fabric it comes in is pretty boring. Why doesn't anyone ever do Designers Guild slings?
4. It really pulls on the shoulder and thusly is useless for the hip carry.
5. Its pretty hard to use if you are left handed.
I do think Dr Sears is great generally but this sling is not good.

Brilliant for very small babies! it was far far more comfortable for baby and me than the wrap slings and hard carriers. It wasn't so good when baby wanted to face outward as her legs were really squashed in front of her. Now she is getting big enough to use it as a hip sling its back in constant use!

Such a simple design but it does take a bit of experimentation to find the best positioning for wearer and baby. At fist it felt as if our newborn would get lost in the swathes of fabric, but now that is a bonus as we anticipate carrying her comfortably in it for a very long time to come. A couple of friends have found the positioning a bit awkward, but IMO it's the sling that allows the most natural positions for the baby. My husband LOVES wearing our daughter in it and she loves being carried in this way. It is incredibly versatile. Bonus that you can easily put it on, take it off and put baby in with minimal hassle as no straps or clasps. Baby Sling adapted the sizing so that it could be comfortably worn by family members that range in height by almost a foot.
