CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

I bought the Tricotti sling from NCT shop because I thought it looked simple to use. [hmm] However I found it to be quite complicated in reality and could not quite figure out how to make new baby comfortable in it. I never used it and returned it.

I LOVE this sling!

And I have tried a few, but this one is so easy to sling on and to sling baby into, in many diferent position (the only one it doesn't do is on your back, but I have my Mei Tai for that)

I used it with my DS from newborn size and once demonstrated it's safety by shoogling him around whilst in it!

Handy to have when you forget a blanket too.

Only down side is that it does not fit in a changing bag easily, both pieces do make a bit of bulk.

Good for young & lightweight toddlers; too uncomfortable once they get beyond 4 months old - they had grown too long for them to be comfortable in it

It's been outstanding. My son, who is now four months and 17 pounds, takes a couple naps a day in it and I allows me the comfort and freedom to do what I need. No knots to tie, it's very easy and comfortable to use. One thing is that with a heavy baby, it can lose some shape, and it might have to get taken in after awhile. Highly recommended.
