Tip of the day

Don't get in a panic over Christmas. Keep a box and put a little in it every week - small gifts, wine, nibbles, napkins etc. This way, you'll be more relaxed and less skint in December! keriku

Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

I really love my quinny speedi stroller and bought this to match for my husband to use to carry our 6 month old son. I have been so impressed with quinny until now. I have just taken it out of the packaging to find that the hip strap with velcro is mush shorted than I thought. I am size 16 at the moment and the velcro only touches for about 1cm - it will never go around my husbands hips! It looks beautiful, comfortable and very well made but I am very dissapointed by this. I can't imagine that it would be at all comfortable if you had to rely solely on the clip to fasten around the hips. I don't think this product is very universal in its use and don't think it would be very suitable for anyone over a size 16. If you're skinny and don't have wide hips I am sure it would be fab

Great carrier that sits on hips and can be used either side. Takes up to 15kg once old enough to sit up so to be honest baby can get a little heavy after about half an hour unless you are really strong (swapping sides helps). Baby can also sleep in carrier as they rest against you. Lovely quality too. Would recommend if you have a 'huggy' baby.
