This was fab when baby was less than 4 months old because it was really easy to put him in when he was asleep or just about ready to dose off as there are no legs or arms to pull through - I just scooped him in. However, I could not find a position where his head would be really close to my chest, the way the fabric ran meant his head always tended to move away from my chest so as I walked I was always holding his head in, not ideal when the point is to be hands free. It was really great for breast feeding in public when he was small (and consequently wanting to feed all the time) as there was enough fabric to totally cover his head and my chest, so it was really discreet and comfortable - I even managed a way to breast feed and walk at the same time and no-one would have known!! I would say overall it was fantastic in the early days mainly because I was out a lot and breastfeeding a lot and this allowed me to easily to this without any faffing around or getting stares! If you have a baby who likes to be held all the time then its great as the position they are in makes them feel like they are being held in your arms. Not so great for 4 months plus though, especially if carrying for a couple of hours as the pull on the one shoulder really starts to ache.

I use this every day and never bother with a pram! My baby is now three months and she loves it. As soon as I put her in, she goes to sleep. It's a bit like carrying a hot water bottle around in cold weather too and baby is very snug! I don't find it too heavy yet, but I'm sure I will as my daughter gets bigger.

The Babasling has got a good, deep 'scoop' to the fabric and straightforward straps to tighten the top and bottom so you can get your baby feeling really secure in it, unlike some other slings I tried. Also, the fold out card showing the 7 different methods of carrying your baby fits in a pocket in the sling, which is much more helpful and immediate than a DVD. Once you've adjusted it so the weight is spread right across your back and shoulder it's comfortable to wear.

My big 7 month old son sits happily on my hip and I think we'll probably still be using it for a few more months to come.

I bought this early on for dd thinking it would be a great solution for feeding, carrying her around etc.. it wasn't . I foudn it fiddly to use, she didn't like being put in it and its very uncomfortable (pulls onto one shoulder). it has subsequently become more useful as a carry around house sling now she can sit up but I'd not use it out.

I loved this when my son was very small but by the time he was 10 weeks old it started to pull on my shoulder because it only hangs off one shoulder, and so I changed to a wrap. It wasn't one to wear for long periods either due to pulling on one shoulder. I know lots of people who have bought this sling and never used it due to the difficulty in getting the baby in the first few times - if you persevere it gets easier but I wouldn't say it's easy to use.
