I bought my 2nd hand babyhawk from a babywearing site it was around £30, it was my first mei tai sling. I love front position and once you have got the hang of getting your LO on your back it is quite comfy. I love the handy pocket and the fact the sling folds into the pocket.
I have tried a couple of mei tai's and the only negative I can point out is I prefer a wider strap but I think that is more personal preference than something lacking in the sling.
I recommend this sling to those who are planning to share with a partner as others have said babyhawks are reversable so you can have a girl/boy sides also there is no adjusting so anyone can wear it.
If you are a first timer I would make sure you get some instruction on how to wear this sling as it will make a difference in the comfort for the wearer.

after trying MANY slings of many different types for my unputdownable notgoingtosleepthankyouverymuch LO - this is my favourite. She is 20 months now and wearing her on my back in a babyhawk is a whole lot lighter and more comfortable than many a rucksack I lugged up and down mountains in my pre-baby life. Highly recommended.

I love my Babyhawk! This item is one of my best baby buys. It's amazingly comfortable to wear with my 8 month old DD, who is a whopping 19 pounder, DD also seems super comfy as she sleeps in it. We went with the Babyhawk as I am 5'2" and my husband is 6'4", so we needed something that could be custom ordered to have longer straps and this seemed to be the only one that offered it. I love the design and surprisingly, so does my husband, despite it being reversible. Don't be put off by the tying of it, after a few goes you really do become a pro!

This is a gorgeous, very comfortable mei tai carrier with a fantastic range of fabric choices.
Like all mei tais the long shoulder straps can trail on the ground when tying, but it is quick and easy to put on for a front carry, and very comfortable.
Getting into a back carry single-handed is more fiddly, but it is very comfortable once you have mastered the knack.
As it has no buckles it can be used by husbands/partners without any adjusting, and if they don't like your pattern choice you can get a reversible one with something more to their taste.
Mine cost fifty pounds and has had plenty of use. They hold their value so well it would probably fetch well over half that if I sold it on.

Great sling - well made and available in a range of pretty fabrics (can be reversible too, so you can have a girly side and a more masculine side for your partner ;-) ) Great for newborn babies worn on your front in the froggy position and for older babies/toddlers on your back too. It can take a bit of getting used to tying it, but it comes with full instructions and is easy and quick to use once you've mastered it.
