Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

I have used the Baby-Bag for my child a year ago and am very happy with it. It can be used directly from birth, which is a great advantage. My baby always wanted to be close to his mummy, but sometimes I needed my hands to be free… This was the perfect solution.

I even used it in the sitting position when my son got older, this was very convenient when he needed to be carried when a stroller was not available, and was more comfortable than I expected. I used the Baby-Bag for almost a year, this was worth the money!

The Baby-Bag is a very well made and complete product; it has a mattress to support the baby, and practical pockets for a pacifier and more stuff.

I found out that there is a new design, with a padded shoulderstrap. I think this will increase the comfort enormously, and the top where the baby's head lies is more open. I am pregnant now, so I'm thinking of buying this new one for my new baby…

I got one of these the other day as I was looking for an easy to use sling at a reasonable price. This has been brilliant, I have been using a fabric sling which is not a patch on this. The premaxx sling is sturdy - my son is a large 11 month old and a real wiggler and it holds him really well. It's comfy to wear and doesn't need constant re adjusting which is a real bonus as I know on some other slings straps and buckles etc tend to slip. I just wish I had got my hands on this earlier as it would be perfect for newborns as it would really hold them in close to you. Hopefully get a lot more use out of this as it's proved a great product.

I bought a Premaxx Baby-Bag after my sister-in-law used one for her baby and raved about it. I had a very unsettled, collicky baby, which would scream when put down, I found by putting her in the sling and taking her for a long walk, whilst rubbing her back, she would very quickly settle into a comfortable sleep. Or if I didn't have this luxury of time and would carry her in the sling round the house whilst doing my chores. I found going shopping with her in the sling was so much more practical and secure than taking the buggy out and I could breast feed her very discreetly whilst not having to take her out of the sling. All in all my partner & I love this sling.

I used the Preamxx Sling for my first baby and now am using again for my newborn second. I've tried a mix of carriers and slings and really like this one because it has a padded base. This makes it feel more supportive than other slings and it's just great for breast feeding and simplicity of use. I really love it when we're out walking or shopping, because I can always see my baby and she's really happy in it. It only took a couple of go's to get it right and now I always make sure we have it with us where ever we go. Fantastic for babies from 4 months as well. It uses your body in the most natural way - you carry baby on hip but with bottom sitting in the padded base and the supported on his back, so it leaves you hands free. I was gutted when my son grew out of it at 20 months. Because it's all cotton you can pop it in the washing machine. It's been a completely positive experience for me.

I never got on with this sling. My DD was never comfortable and it just irritated me.

I can't think of anything I liked about it so promptly sold it on Ebay.
