I've used a Hug-a-Bub with both my daughters and it has saved my sanity. We didn't have a buggy for the first and the hug-a-bub travelled with us to Mexico for six months as our only mode of transporting her. On the plus side it is light, she loved it, and it is comfortable for mum and baby from birth. On the minus side I found it stretched a little over time (but we did use it a LOT) and it isn't cheap for what it is. The Kari-me does the same thing cheaper I think. However, a fabric sling has been the best thing we bought for a baby and I would recommend it wholeheartedly

This was great for the first 8 weeks or so, particularly when I needed both hands to deal with the other children at bath time for example, because the baby's head is supported well. However, I found that as the baby got heavier, the fabric stretched so that even if you tied it tightly, they ended up sagging nearer to your thighs. You have to remove the baby to retie it, which is not always convenient. Have gone back to my sling easy.

Love this - it's comfortable for both me and baby, easy to pop her in and out, and could even breastfeed in the early days - only wish I'd got it sooner. Once you've got the hang of how to tie it, it's a piece of cake, though it did take a couple of viewings of the DVD to master the technique. My baby loves being snuggled in and often goes to sleep in it, which is very nice for both of us.

I bought mine second hand from another Mumsnetter, which made it good value - it's quite pricey if you buy new, though comparable with other slings/carriers. Last but not least, you can sling it into the washing machine and comes up good as new.

Excellent. Only just got it home and still pregnant so haven't tried with a baby yet but put 2year old in and it was amazing! Supported his weight really well. (over 15kgs) and was still comfy for me to wear with no hands supporting his weight! High quality material. The inbuilt bag makes it worth while because there is so much fabric it is handy to have somewhere to store it. The video/dvd is great. Looks fidley but if I can get my hefty 2 year old in a baby will be a doddle! (also tried with a teddy bear which didnot fall out despite running up stairs and bending over etc!)

On the negative side this is very expensive. Mine is 2nd hand tho which I would highly recommend. Great product though and would happily spend the full amount on it as it is so unbelievably comfy. You have to try it to know what I mean!

I love the hug-a-bub as it's so comfortable for me and I don't have to worry about baby's spine. I can carry baby for hours with no probs. Only problem is that's it's a pain in the neck to put on and take off and can't do it while holding baby. Apart from that, though, every parent who has a baby who wants held a lot, should get one - I know it's expensive but what price your sanity?
