Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

Genius invention. DD used one from around six months and it definitely helped to give her another 'cue' for naps/bedtime. DS was big baby & way too frisky for swaddling past the early weeks so started him earlier. Both were good sleepers at night from very early on.

They are pricier than others but still using some that DD was in four years ago.

Travel feature is incredibly useful for those night time journeys back from granny's!

Love this - great for travelling (car seat or buggies). Easy to use (option of three thicknesses 0.5, 1 or 2.5 tog). Good deal on Bumpto3 website to get 10% off if you buy two grobags. Much better quality than competitors and tested by FSIDs the experts on cot death so very safe to use. Easy to wash and dry (tumble or line). Comes with free room thermometer which also outlines what bedclothes they should wear depending on thickness of grobag and room temperature. Can't recommend them enough.

Ya GOTTA love a Grobag!! This is the best thing we have bought! B decided about 2 weeks in that swaddling was NOT for him and made himself known with the mother of all tantrums (a sign of things to come??!?) so there I am at bedtime thinking ok what next. Got the Grobag out and have never looked back. He loves it and therefore, so do we!

We got one of the travel Grobags more by accident than anything else but it's been brilliant. We've used it in the car when we've been out past bedtime, in the pram and pushchair before I got a cosytoes thing. Genius! The five point harness goes through a hole in the back of the bag and the zips on the front meet around the harness clip on the front. That way, B can sleep in the car, which he ALWAYS does and we don't have to wake him to put him to bed - he just goes straight down.

You can tumble dry it which is a BIG plus to me, particularly if I want a quick turn around!!

They might be more expensive than some other sleeping bags but we've got a few different ones and this is by far the best and most comfortable. It is lovely material and it doesn't twist round when he's wriggling.

Love it love it love it!
