I have been lent a Bumbo by a friend but I'm disappointed with it. I wanted it to be good as it looks great - my 5 mth old is happy to sit in it for a while but once he's had enough he arches his back and pushes himself upwards and although he hasn't come out yet I think its just a matter of time. Maybe its better for a slightly older child who is happier to sit for longer.

I wouldn't recommend this as my (then) 6 m old was out of it within about 2 minutes and, subsequently, only the novelty of weaning kept him in it for any longer duration...To be honest, it was pretty useless after about 2 weeks as he liked to either arch his back to get out or 'roll' out over the side. I wish it had worked, but I'm afraid it didn't.

The Bumbo has its uses but I think it is slightly overrated. My son never sat in it for more than a minute at a time and would arch his back attempting to climb out. I have also seen other babies do this. It was, however, good as a booster seat at the dinner table on holidays as he got older.

The play tray that can be bought separately and pops off if baby puts any weight on it. I found it was used more as a toy than a functional tray.

Never really got the point of this. Could sit dd in it, but then she had nothing to play with, unless I stuck toys to the armchair. Kicked it around a bit, exiled to the attic, will eventually sell on eBay.

I tried this with two of my babies. It just resulted in lots of tears and I ended up giving it away. Perhaps if you have chunky wriggly babies they get very stuck and frustrated
