When the monitor works it is great but I haven't been overly impressed as we've had two that have broken.
The first broke at about 10 months old but was replaced by the store. The power just went and you couldn't switch it on. The replacement eventually went with exactly the same problem.
I also second what others have said about interference. It was sometimes difficult to get the two units to connect and the baby one cuts out after so long if no connection. This was incredibly annoying as had to go into the bedroom just as settling (as he liked the nightlight to stay on too).

I ordered the monitors before buba was born and only really started using them properly about a month ago. I found that withtou the power adapter the batteries wore down very quickly, they were low on the first night I used them which I was a bit dissappointed with but its not a big deal if u get rechargables. U dont really need to use batteries for the baby unit as it stays in the cot.

We used this monitor from when our daughter was born until she was just over a year old.
Really good price, probably the best value for money available at the moment.
Sound quality is really good, and you can turn it right up so you can hear your baby louder than you'd hear her if you were in the room! (found this useful when I was doing something in another room, as this model isn't portable without disposable batteries and it eats them up in a matter of days)
The only problems we had with this was after about 6 months the monitor starting making a bizarre noise like a plane taking off for about 10 seconds when we switched it on.
Also this monitor would benefit from having the nightlight button seperate to the on/off button, I put the monitor right next to my baby's cot and a few times I didn't press the button for long enough when I was trying to turn it off and it'd just turn the nightlight on and wake up the baby! But neither of these things would deter me from using this monitor for a second baby or recommending it to a friend.

Found it to be ok for basic use ie not mobile, but once on the move around the house it would easily go out of range, or if too close to baby unit the parent unit would produce loud feed back, and was easily interfered from outside sources (not sure from what as don't have other babies living close by so couldn't be other monitors)! Having to replace after 5 1/2 months as we're going to be moving back into our own room, which is just the next room but can't find anywhere that doesn't give off very noisy feed back... very annoying!!!!!!!!! Two way communication was poor, so wouldn't be soothing to LO.
Maybe mid priced, however has proved more expensive in the long run for us, as we're having to buy another one... pay cheap, pay twice!

Good monitor, value for money. Does the job well and surprised at how long the range is, I can use it cleaning the car or out in the garden. Only downside is mine occasionally loses contact and makes an annoying beeping sound. This only seems to happen at inconvenient times like 3am! Overall the good product.
