This baby monitor was the absolute business right up to the the point where the hubbie dropped the the parent handset sqaurely into his pint.

It's replacement by Tomy (which cost about the same new as the BT one on eBay) is sadly lacking. Not nearly as clear with sound and has an annoying habit of beeping randomly for no particular reason.

brilliant monitor, bought after our Phillips died on us after only a year or so. 4/5 years later it is still going strong. never had a problem with it. you can tell the kids to go to sleep through the intercom without having to constantly trudge upstairs. it tells you the temp of the room. it plays tunes. crystal clear reception, no inteference. what more do you need? faultless!

I have this monitor for my son and ive found it to be a very good monitor for the price of it.

The sound is crystal clear and I like the fact that it shows the room temperature - very useful when knowing how many layers to put on at night!

The built in nightlight is good, as is the 2 way talk facility (you can talk to your child from the parent part of the monitor).

The downside to the monitor is the very poor battery life of the parent unit. Within a few weeks the rechargable batteries supplied with the monitor started to not hold their charge for very long. I have never replaced them (my son is 18 months old now) but I don't think the monitor would last more than 3 hours without a charge.

The little lullabys are a nice idea, although they do sound a bit 'tinny' although if you have them on very quietly, they arn't too bad.

We find it great - useful to have the temperature and really useful to be able to 'shhhhh' without even being in the room!

A brilliant monitor - does everything you want from a monitor, plus a couple of things you don't think you need but end up finding invaluable! (Two way talk - when I'm feeding, I can get my DH to make me a cup of tea, and he can't pretend he hasn't heard!)

Unfortunately, the lullabies also seem to be a bit of a hit with DS, although the music is hardly to my liking!
