Ingredients1350g (3lb) tomatoes (can use up green tomatoes if necessary)1350g (3lb) apples 450g (1lb) onions 340g (12oz) sultanas 450g (1lb) soft brown sugar 14g (1/2oz) mustard seed 1 tbsp ground ginger 1 tbsp mustard 1 tbsp pickling spice (in muslin bag) 3 pints cider vinegar |
Handy HintPour boiling water over pricked tomatoes in a bowl and leave to stand for a minute to get the skin off. |

Method1. Peel and chop tomatoes, onions and apples.2. Add to the rest of the ingredients in a large pan and simmer for 2 hours. 3. Spoon into kilner-type jars straight from the dishwasher. Keeps for three months. | |||||||||||||||||||||
