Ingredients

For the base:
113 g (4oz) butter
57 g (2oz) sugar
227 g (8oz) plain flour

For the caramel:
1 small tin of condensed mlk
57 g (2oz) sugar
113 g (4oz) butter
2 tbsp of golden syrup
milk chocolate to melt on top (as much as desired)

Handy Hint

Keep an eye on your base in the oven, depending on how thick it is it may cook quicker or more slowly.

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 150 C / fan 130 C
2. Cream the butter and sugar together and mix in the flour.
Press the mix into a tin and bake for 30 minutes.
3. Put the condensed milk, sugar, butter and syrup into a pan and slowly melt. Stir until thick.
4. Pour the mixture onto the base and leave to set.
5. Once it is set you can melt chocolate (in a bowl over boiling water; leave to cool), and pour it on top.
6. Leave to set before serving.

My Gran is the best at this and always makes it when I visit she even makes some to bring when she comes to visit me too.
