Ingredients

50g butter
1 egg
150g flour
Dash of milk
85g (3oz) cheddar
1 tbsp caramelised onion chutney

Handy Hint

Hint: reheat for 10 seconds to remelt the cheese and make them yummier - good with soup.

Method

1. Soften butter in microwave.
2. Add egg, mix.
3. Add flour, mix, add milk to make cake-like consistency.
4. Add cheese and chutney, stir.
5. Put in muffin cases.
6. Bake in oven at 200C for 18 mins or until golden.

So yummy - I could barely resist eating them all, hot out of the oven. i'm rubbish at baking but these came out brilliantly. You definately use self-raising floour.

I haven't used this recipe, but yes you will need SR flour. Or plain flour and some baking powder.

Can someone confirm whether this needs plain or SR flour? It's kind of people to post recipes, but it is a shame when people just put 'flour' as happens with quite a few recipes.

Not impressed, although used plain flour as presumed better for savoury muffins, perhaps should have added baking powder. Added quite a bit of milk, more than a dash, to get consistency, and result is pale, dry and stuck to the muffin cases.

Thoroughly yummy! If you don't have the onion chutney (like I didn't) you can always fry 1/2 an onion, then add a splash of balsamic vinegar and 1tsp of sugar. Chutney an awful lot easier though!
