Ingredients

3 Mars bars
120g butter
3 cups Rice Krispies
200g milk chocolate

Method

Melt 3 Mars bars and 90g butter in a saucepan. I use our biggest pan, on the smallest ring on its lowest heat. After a few minutes there will be a smooth paste add 3 cups (or 750ml) Rice Krispies. Press firmly into a tin about the size of a lasagne dish.

For the topping melt 200g of milk chocolate and 30g butter in a water bath, (although I do it on a low setting in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes). Pour over Rice Krispies and put in fridge for at least 30 mins. Cut into squares when set.

My marginally simpler recipe is 1oz butter and 1oz rice krispies per 'standard' (59g) Mars Bar or supermarket equivalent - I don't bother with the topping, and it goes down a storm with adults and children alike. A certain degree of faith is required as the mixture looks digusting as it melts and requires a lot of mixing to arrive at the perfect degree of gloopiness.
