Ingredients300g red lentils3/4 carrots, peeled and grated 2 slices bacon, chopped into small pieces a ham bone if you can get one 1 tsp marigold stock |

MethodFry the bacon in the bottom of a big saucepan.Add ham bone. Add the lentils and carrots. Stir for a minute to wilt. Add 1.5l boiling water and the stock powder. Bring to boil then reduce to a simmer for at least 45 minutes, longer if you like a more mushy, thick soup. Remove bone and allow to cool slightly before serving | |||||||||||||||||||||
