Ingredients

Pasta, depending on how many you're serving
Small tin tuna
1 large onion, chopped
1 400g tin of tomatoes
2 tsp dried mixed herbs
Dash of Worcester sauce
Cheddar cheese, grated

Handy Hint

I have also done this with sweetcorn for a nice change.

Method

1. Cook the pasta.
2. Put the onion in a separate saucepan to fry off.
3. Add tuna to the onion and heat through.
4. Add tomatoes and heat through, adding Worcester sauce and dried herbs.
5. Simmer very gently until the pasta is cooked.
6. Put the pasta and the tuna mix in a big ovenproof dish.
7. Mix in some of the cheese and then use the remainder to cover.
8. Heat in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the top is golden and crispy.

Fussy F loved this and cleared her plate, D started off enthusiasticly but had to be bribed with ice-cream to finish she did have a large helping though. I used a bit of the Tuna oil to fry the onion and added a chicken stock cube to the pasta water. Overall good I will definately be cooking it again.

Can I freeze the finished product? DS2 completely rejected it (and DS1 getting over tummyache so ate a couple of mouthfuls). I can't throw it out (sob)

Thanks so much for this. DD, (8) has recently lost interest in pasta but she had so much fun making this with me that she ate the lot and asked for the leftovers to be kept for lunch the next day. Fussy DH won't eat tuna but it's no hardship to keep a bit to one side and add meatballs or mince.
