TODAY, 1-2pm: Although the practice of female genital mutilation (FGM) is illegal in the UK, it is estimated that up to 20,000 girls are at risk, and that more than 60,000 women have already undergone the procedure. Earlier this year, Lynne Featherstone spearheaded a government announcement on a five-year programme to help eradicate FGM within a generation.
